Obituary of Carolyn Grate

Carolyn Grate, age 74, of Othello, Washington, was reunited with the Love of her Life on, October 5, 2016 at Othello, Washington. She was born in Rocksprings, Wyoming on March 29, 1942. She was one of 7 children. Her oldest sibling, Helen, was 26 when Carolyn was born. Carolyn and her younger siblings moved to Eureka, California when she was 7 years old. She was married to Ronald William Grate on September 26, 1959 in Reno, Nevada. Together they had 2 children, Barbie and Robert. Carolyn and Ron worked hard to build a life together and enjoyed 57 years of marriage before Ron passed way August 7, 2016. Carolyn enjoyed fishing, and passed that love on to her family. She loved to travel and meet new people along the way. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and cooking, her potato salad had no equal. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, the Rebecca’s in Bridgeport, California, and the Moose and Eagles clubs in Othello. She will be dearly missed. She was survived by her daughter, Barbie Dailey of Othello, Washington and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald William Grate, her parents, Grant and Johnny Harries, her siblings, Helen Sellers, and Bud, DA, Grant, Warren, and Jay Harries, and her son, Robert W.
