Ricardo DeLeon, 85 longtime resident of Othello, Washington peacefully and with great anticipation passed from this life into eternal life with Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10. Fr. Alejandro Zepeda Corazon of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. for family and at 5p.m. for friends on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Stevens Funeral Chapel. The Rosary will take place at 6 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Chapel also on Thursday, May 9. Burial will follow the funeral at Bess Hampton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being made by Stevens Funeral Chapel.
Ricardo was born in Tynan Texas on June 21, 1933 to Bernardo DeLeon and Gregoria Zamora. He was one of 14 children. Ricardo married Carmen Longoria DeLeon on September 12, 1953. They were happily married for 57 years before Carmen went to her heavenly home in 2010. Ricardo, worked as a truck driver co-owning his company Pro Ag Transport with his son, Ray DeLeon until he retired in 2004. Ricardo enjoyed making the most of everyday. He had an amazing work ethic, working full days long after his retirement. He was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Parish, and prayer group which sustained him the last years of his life. He always had time for his family. Spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was his priority. He loved games, puzzles, food, and enjoyed a good episode of Walker Texas Ranger and Gunsmoke. He was a man of integrity, commitment, and a devotion to his wife Carmen. He longed to see Jesus, his eternal home, and his beautiful wife Carmen. “Choose you this day whom you will serve…as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
