Margarito Perez Guzman, 87, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Othello, Washington. Born on May 7, 1938, Margarito was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother whose life was defined by love, hard work, and kindness.
From a very young age, Margarito helped his parents in the fields and worked alongside his father on their strawberry farm. In time, he married the love of his life, Hortencia, and together they moved to Washington state, where Margarito built his career as an owner-operator truck driver, often making long hauls to Texas. He retired from trucking in 2009.
Margarito was known for his friendly spirit and warm smile, which left a lasting impression on everyone he met. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering with his equipment. He also had a fondness for war movies and westerns.
Margarito is survived by his children, Leroy and Margarita; his grandchildren, Monica, Christian, Amalia, Adan, and Alexa; and his great-grandson, Juan Jr. His presence, laughter, and gentle nature will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
