Obituary of Rafael Garza

DOB 10/24/1939 DOD 10/20/2025 Written and provided by the family. Nacio el dia 24 de Octubre de 1930 en El Rancho el Huisache que hoy es conocido como San Benito N.L. Mexico. Sus Padres Fueron Agapito Garza Lopez y Andrea Suarez Vela y de ellos nacieron 8 hijos Rafael siendo el mayor y despues nacieron Olivia, Rosa, Cruz, Herlinda, Adela, Otila, Y Rogelio. En la trayectoria de su vida el le ayudaba a su papa cuidar cabras en el rancho La Barretosa y tambien cortaba lena para su famila. A como fue creciendo el trabajaba con sus animales que el tenia como una yunta de bueyes al cual les puso por nombre El Sino, El Noble, Y El Sueno tambien tenia una mula y una vaca lechera. En su juventud conocio a una bella dama Eloisa Martinez Gonzalez (Locha) con la cual contrajo matrimonio el dia 11 de Enero de 1955 en el cual Dios le concidio 5 hijos; Ruth Ofilia, Blanca Lilia, Norma Odilia, Elda Noemi, y Juan Gabriel. En 1956 Papa y mama se venieron a Los Estados Unidos con sus Padrinos Tomas Valdez y Ines Deleon para trabajar. Anduvieron en varios estados como California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Wyoming, y Nebraska. Al final decidieron quedarse en Othello, Washington donde trabajaron en la agricultura como la uva, algodon, jape, papa, frijol, huertas, y betabel. Cuando papa no trabajaba el fin de semana salia a buscar una borrega o un chivo para alimentar a su famila. A papa siempre lo encontraban afuera de su casa manteniendo su yarda limpia y bien cortadita y sus jardines y rosales bien hermosos. Papa tuvo la dicha de ver a su hijo y 3 hijas contraer matrimonio. Juan/Melissa Garza, Elda/Leandro Deleon, Norma/Aristeo Rodriguez, Blanca/Jose Martinez, los cuales les dieron 9 nietos; Jahlaney, Leandro Jr, Alondra, Ashley, Blake, Jacob, Maely, Emily, Luis, y un bisnieto Alexavier y otro para Marzo 2026. A quienes el adoraba con todo su corazon. Papa siempre recordaba a todos sus familiares. Papa recibio al Senor como su Salvador en su vejez y fue bautizado en agua el dia 2 de Septiembre del 2018 a la edad de 88 anos. Papa fue una persona muy amable, trabajador, generoso, servicial y temeroso de Dios. Le presiden; Su esposa de 57 anos Eloisa Martinez De Garza, sus padres Agapito y Andrea Garza, Sus hermanos; Adela Garza, Olivia Martinez, Rosa Valdez, Cruz Garza, y Herlinda Montemayor. Se Le Extranara. Was born on October 24, 1930 in the homestead of El Huisache now known as San Benito N.L. Mexico. His parents were Agapito Garza Lopez and Andrea Suarez Vela of whom they had 8 children Rafael being the oldest. Followed by Olivia, Rosa, Cruz, Herlinda, Adela, Otila, & Rogelio. During his life span he helped his dad care for thier goats in thier homestead called la Barretosa and also cut firewood for his family. As he was growing up he worked with thier animals that they had, like a pair of bulls to which he named El Sino, El Noble, & El Sueno, he also had a mule and a milking cow. During his youth he met a beautiful young lady named Eloisa Martinez Gonzalez (Locha) whom he wed on January 11, 1955 and God blessed them with 5 children; Ruth Ofilia, Blanca Lilia, Norma Odilia, Elda Noemi, & Juan Gabriel. In 1956 they migrated to the United States with thier godparents Tomas Valdez y Inez Deleon to work in agriculture. They worked in many states including California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Wyoming, & Nebraska making their final home in Othello, Washington. They worked in various jobs like picking grapes, cotton, hopp, potatoes, beans, apple orchards & sugar beets. When dad wasn't working; on the weekends he always went out and would look for a sheep or goat to provide for his family. Dad was always proud of his yard. You would always find him outside his house cutting his grass and maintaining it nice and green. He always kept his garden & flower beds and roses beautiful. Dad had the privilege of seeing his son and 3 daughters get married; Juan/Melissa Garza, Elda/Leandro Deleon, Norma/ Aristeo Rodriguez, Blanca/Jose Martinez from these marriages 9 grandchildren were born; Jahlaney, Leandro Jr, Alondra, Ashley, Blake, Jacob, Maely, Emily, Luis, 1 great grandchild Alexavier and 1 coming in March of 2026. Whom he loved with all his heart. Dad always remembered all his family. Dad accepted his Lord and Savior at a late age and was baptized in water on September 2, 2018 at the age of 88 years old. Dad was a very kind, hardworking, humble, generous, helpful to others, and God fearing man. Proceeded in death; His wife of 57 years Eloisa Garza, his parents Agapito & Andrea Garza, and Siblings Adela Garza, Olivia Martinez, Rosa Valdez, Cruz Garza & Herlinda Montemayor. You Will Be Missed.
