In Loving Memory of Elisandra “Chenda” Martinez
March 6, 1937 – March 2, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Elisandra Martinez, affectionately known as “Chenda,” who peacefully entered eternal rest on March 2, 2026, at 12:20 p.m., surrounded by the quiet comfort in her bed at the Village Senior home.
Elisandra was born on March 6, 1937, in Los Ramones Nuevo Leon Mexico to her loving parents, Dolores and Esteban Martinez. From humble beginnings, she grew into a woman defined by strength, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
With courage and determination, Elisandra moved to Washington State, where she worked to build a better life for her family. A true example of perseverance, she often held two jobs at a time to provide for her beloved sons, Manuel and Timoteo Martinez, ensuring they had everything they needed. She worked for 10 years at Lamb Weston in Connell and later dedicated 20 years of service at Carnation in Othello before retiring. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she carried herself with quiet dignity and pride.
After retirement, Elisandra devoted her life fully to her family. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren. For the last 14 years of her life, she resided at the Village Senior Home, where she continued to share her warm spirit and gentle kindness with those around her.
A faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Elisandra lived her life rooted in faith. She was a respected member of her community — known for her generous heart, strong values, and steady presence. She was a woman who gave without hesitation and loved without condition. Truly, she had a heart of gold.
She is lovingly survived by her siblings Delfino Martinez, David Martinez, Cecillo Martinez, and Enedina Martinez; her devoted sons Manuel Martinez and Timoteo Martinez; and her cherished grandchildren Tiffany, Stacy, Manny and Blake, TJ, Cristal, Mariah, and Madison. Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on through each of them.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is at peace. Her life was a testament to sacrifice, hard work, and unconditional love — a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished.
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue… Honor her for all that her hands have done." — Proverbs 31:25–26, 31
Elisandra’s hands were never idle, her heart was always open, and her love will remain with us forever.
Amen.
