Obituary of Nellie M. Voss

Nellie M. Voss, 89, of Warden, Washington, passed away November 13, 2017. She was born in Walla Walla on January 23, 1928. She was married to Gerald Michael Voss on April 13, 1945. They had 8 children and enjoyed 46 years of marriage, until Gerald’s passing on October 15, 1991. Nellie worked as a laborer for a variety of different processing plants. She was a strong willed woman, determined and resolute, and she loved to dance. She enjoyed her flower garden, but her primary passion in life was for her family. She will be dearly missed. She was survived by her children: Callie (Myrtle) Voss of Warden, Washington, Lorena (Arvel) Cain of Porterville, California, Gerald (Linda) Voss Jr. of Benton City, Washington, Nellie (Terrill) Hope of Kennewick, Washington, Dixie Flores of Warden, Washington, and John (Janice) Voss of Warden, Washington, and sisters: Violet Whitney of Warden, Washington, and Jennie (Lloyd) Underwood of West Richland, Washington. Nellie also leaves behind 27 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Voss, her parents, Callie Theodore Hicks and Mae Elizabeth Kinney Hicks, her son, Robert Voss, and her daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Keeling, and her grandson, Daniel Tenhet, her siblings: Lawrence Hicks, Ellen Withers, Betty Jean Browning, Mickey Hancock, and Pearl Farnsworth.  Funeral arrangements will begin with a viewing at 10:00 am, services at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Stevens Funeral Chapel, in Othello, Washington. Memorial donations can be made in Nellie's name to the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation. 1031 W.
