Donald Edward Gentry
December 17, 1942 – March 24, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Donald Edward Gentry, who returned to his
Heavenly home on March 24, 2025, at the age of 82.
Donald was born on December 17, 1942, in Forks, Washington, to Otto and Thelma
Gentry. He dedicated his life to faith, family, and service, living as a true example of
Christ’s love. A devoted husband to his wife of 59 years, Susan Gentry, Donald was the
cornerstone of his family, always leading with wisdom, kindness, and unwavering faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his sister,
Edna Leppell, his 8 children: Brian (Cynthia), Cynthia (Warren), Evan (Sandi), Julie
(Brad), Gayle (Joe), Michael (Claire), Andrea (Eric), and Melissa (Ryan), his 34
grandchildren, and his 8 great-grandchildren.
A man of deep faith, Donald was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, where he served in various callings and found great purpose in
serving. He was always ready and willing to serve those in need.
Donald enjoyed careers in forestry and real estate, finding peace in the forest and joy
working with people. He was always busy, filling his time with family, doing family history
work, gardening, working in the yard, and planning his next project.
Though we grieve his absence, we take comfort in knowing that Donald is now in the
presence of his Heavenly Father and his Savior, Jesus Christ. His legacy of love, faith,
and family will live on through his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29th at noon at The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints 7th Avenue building (611 S 7th Ave, Othello, Washington).
All friends, family, and other associations are welcome to attend.
