Elia Alicia Rodriguez, age 83, of Othello, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Hillsboro, Texas. She was surrounded by many visitors during her final days, a reflection of the lives she touched. Her loving daughter was by her side, ensuring she departed this world embraced by love and peace.
Born on May 15, 1941, in Rancho de Guadalupe, Nuevo León, Mexico, Elia married in 1963 and later moved to the United States. She worked for 24 years at Simplot before retiring in 2011.
Elia found joy in quilting, crocheting, gardening, camping, and fishing. A dedicated reader with a lifelong love of learning, she generously shared her time and offered kind words to those around her.
She is survived by the love of her life Ramiro P. Rodriguez; daughter Alicia (Jim) Byrd; son Ramiro (Lisa) Rodriguez Jr.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings Daniel Silva, Saul (Rosario) Silva, Delia (Mauricio) Cerrillo, Isabel (Raymond) Sharp, and Nilda (Martel) Hermann; as well as many nieces and nephews. The Magana family of Othello held a special place in her life as cherished neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Maria Clara Silva and her sister Berta Idalia Silva.
A celebration of life and interment of ashes will be planned in Othello, Washington at a later date.
