Obituary of Acie p Jewell

Please share a memory of Acie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. Acie "Ace" Paul Jewell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ace was born on December 28, 1944, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late Herman Ray Jewell and Mary Agnes Robinson Jewell. He peacefully passed away on April 24, 2025, in Moses Lake, Washington, after a courageous twelve-year battle with cancer. Throughout his journey, Ace was surrounded by the unwavering love and support of his devoted wife, Lori, and his family. Ace married Lori Lee Rounds September 3, 1977 in Elko, Nevada. Losing his father at a young age instilled in Ace the profound value of hard work. He began working in the coal mines, contributing to his family's well-being from an early age. Despite his responsibilities, Ace's passion for sports remained a constant in his life. He developed a love for speed and began racing stock cars in his youth, a pursuit he continued until transitioning to driving truck after his time in the mines. In 1976, Ace embarked on a new chapter, joining the Twin Falls Canal Company in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he dedicated ten years of service, from 1976 to 1986. In 1986, Ace's career led him to the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2006. Eager to embrace a new phase of life, Ace and Lori purchased a motorhome and set off for the warmer climates of California. Their retirement years were filled with travel, allowing them to reconnect with family and explore the diverse landscapes of the country. In 2013, Ace faced his cancer diagnosis with remarkable strength and resilience. He and Lori returned to Moses Lake to be closer to his sons, finding comfort and support in their presence. During this time, Ace discovered a new passion for crocheting alongside his wife, Lori. Ace lovingly created countless handmade treasures – animals, blankets, scarves, and hats – touching the lives of many with his heartfelt creations. Even as he embraced his newfound artistic talent, Ace's lifelong love for speed and racing never waned. He could often be found enthusiastically watching any form of racing, hockey, or football that graced the television screen. Ace was preceded in death by his father, Herman; his mother, Mary; his brothers, Everett, Jim, and Rossotis; his sister, Linda; and his daughter, Mary. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife, Lori; his sister, Durella; his children, Tammy, AJ, Pat, and Adam; as well as his many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family of Mr. Acie "Ace" Paul Jewell wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of the Moses Lake Cancer Foundation and Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello, Washington, for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time
