DOB 05/08/1930 DOD 05/16/2025 Written and provided by the family Donald Paul Butcher May 8,1930 – May 16, 2025 Donald Paul Butcher, 95, of Othello, Washington, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2025 in Othello. Visitation will begin at 10am on Thursday, May 29, 2025, followed by the Memorial service at 11am, at the First Baptist Church, 1130 E Pine St in Othello. Memorial contributions may be made to La Country Care, 2073 W Bench Rd, Othello, WA. 99344. Stevens Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be made at https://stevens.stevensfc.com. Don was born on May 8, 1930 in Riverside, California, the oldest child of Paul and Evelyn Keefer Butcher. On September 15, 1956, he married Helen Lind of Seattle. They were married for 36 years before her passing on November 26, 1992. Don was a farmer and orchardist in Othello since 1954. For many years, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church, volunteering in a variety of different ways. He was known as one who was always looking for opportunities to help others in need, both locally and internationally. He is survived by 5 children, Carol Horton (Dave) of Port Orchard, WA, Paul (Ruth) Butcher of Othello and Detroit Lakes, MN, Janet Cupone (Steve) of Glendale, AZ, Steven Butcher (Angela Costanzo) of Othello, and Linda Cyr (Paul) of Ketchikan, AK; daughter-in-law, Karen Norton of Othello; 19 grandchildren (Sarah, Kristen, Julie, Anthony, Brian, Eric, Scott, Seth, Travis, Spencer, Rachel, John Alex, Trent, Tanner,Joseph, Julianne, Nicole, Ashley and Tyler) and 13 great-grandchildren (Mackenzie,Sena, Benjamin, Martial, Cyrus, Alistair, Genevieve, Archer, Lucia, Dagny, Samson, Margaret, and Lori); sister-in-law, Liz Butcher, brother-in-law, Charles Lind; cousin, Walt Butcher; and many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Thomas Butcher; sister, Virginia Farwell, and brother, Marshall Butcher.
