DOB 08/01/1941 DOD 07/01/2025 Written and provided by the family. In Loving Memory of Petra Guerra Pruneda August 1, 1941 – July 1, 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Petra Guerra Pruneda, who passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength. She was 83 years old. Petra was born on August 1, 1941, in Los Ramones, Nuevo León, Mexico, to Jose Sabas Guerra and Bernarda Rodriguez. A woman of deep faith, strength, and quiet grace, Petra devoted her life to her family and to those she loved. Petra was the heart of her family — a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother, a beloved sister, and a caring aunt. Her home was always open, her table full, and her arms welcoming. She lived a life rooted in compassion and selflessness, never hesitating to offer support or share her wisdom with those she loved. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, kindness, and resilience. Petra had a gift for making others feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her warmth and wisdom will remain with us always. Petra is survived by her loving husband, Simon Pruneda, and their six children: Serjio Pruneda (Isabelle Pruneda), Jose Pedro Pruneda, Rosaidalia Madrigales, Sonia Pruneda-Hernandez(Samuel Hernandez), Sylvia Pruneda Young (Jay Young), and Simona Pruneda Lepe (Rafael Lepe). She was a proud and cherished grandmother to: Joseph Pruneda, Lindsey Pruneda Miller(Johnnie Miller), Emily Pruneda Carwile (Brady Carwile), Jessie Jr. Madrigales (Graciela Vela), Nicholas Madrigales, Mikel Madrigales (Lorena Serrato), Ryan Madrigales, Serjio Madrigales, Hyrum Hernandez, Ezra Hernandez, Ezekiel Hernandez, Gabriel Young, Lincoln Young, Rafael Jr. Lepe, and Raul Lepe. Petra was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Lillian Pruneda, Johanna Pruneda, Haylee Miller, Cutter Miller, Reata Miller, and Chloe Carwile. Though she is no longer with us in person, Petra’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she cherished. Her memory will continue to inspire strength, unity, and love within her family and community. Petra is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. While we mourn her loss, we celebrate the incredible life she lived and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
