Obituary of Erasmo "Eddie" Gutierrez Jr.

Erasmo “Eddie” Gutierrez Jr., age 67, of Othello, Washington, passed away March 17, 2016 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. He was born in Victoria, Texas on July 18, 1948. He attended Othello High School. Eddie enlisted in the USMC in 1967 at the age of 17, serving two tours in Vietnam until he was honorably discharged in 1973. He married the love of his life, Magdalena “Maggie” Cerrillo on July 17, 1971. Together they raised 4 children in Othello. Eddie was self-employed as a general contractor. He retired in 1996. He was very involved with the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) serving as the local post commander and district commander. Eddie was also a life member of the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, music, he played the guitar, but his primary passion was for his family. Eddie was a faithful member of Agape Love Ministries. He will be dearly missed. He was survived by Wife, Maggie Gutierrez of Othello, Washington, and his children: Hilda Gutierrez of Pasco, Washington, Michelle (Jesus Jr.) Garza of Othello, Washington, Erasmo “Eddie” Gutierrez III of Othello, Washington, Adrian (Karla) Gutierrez of Othello, Washington, and his siblings: Rosalinda Ramos of Wenatchee, Washington, Maria (Jose) Ramirez of Othello, Washington, Salvador (Faye) Gutierrez of Syracuse, Utah, and Valentina Gutierrez of Othello, Washington. Eddie also leaves 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren to cherish his loving memory. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Stevens Funeral Chapel, in Othello, Washington. Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Bethel Spanish Assembly of God, in Othello, Washington.
