Obituary of Amalia E Sanchez
Amalia E. Sanchez, age 78, of Othello, Washington, passed away March 26, 2016 at Coventry House in Othello. She was born in San Angelo, Texas on April 12, 1937 to parents, Adolph and Rosa Enriquez. She and her 6 siblings were raised in California, where she attended school through the sixth grade. After her father passed away, she went to work to help support her family. Picking cotton in the fields of California, she met her future husband, Jose. They were married on January 10, 1955 in Brentwood, California. They moved to Othello in 1963 where, together they raised 3 children, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Amalia worked at Chef Ready and McCain Foods for 44 years before she retired. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish. Nothing pleased her more than to cook and host large gatherings for families and friends. She is remembered especially for her kind heart, sense of humor and love of her family. She will be dearly missed. Amalia is survived by her children: Joe Sanchez of Ashland Oregon, David (Molly) Sanchez of Spokane Washington, and Stella (David) Leatham of Pasco Washington, and her brother Alfredo (Loretta) Enriquez of Bakersfield California, her brother-in-law, Pablo Chacon of Bakersfield California, and sister-in-laws, Jeannie Enriquez of Othello Washington, and Eva Enriquez of Othello Washington. Amalia also leaves 5 grandchildren: Alexa Sanchez of Vancouver Washington, Andrea (Timothy) Johnson of Vancouver Washington, Monica Sanchez of Spokane Washington, Joseph Sanchez of Spokane Washington, and Jackson Leatham of Pasco Washington, and 2 great-grandchildren, Sebastian Warczak of Vancouver Washington, and Madison Fulcher of Vancouver Washington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her loving memory. Amalia is preceded in death by her parents, and 5 siblings: Margaret Ramos, Odelia Chacon, Armando Enriquez, Adolph Enriquez Jr., and Albert Enriquez, and one great-granddaughter, Grace Hope Johnson.
