Obituary of Paula Fuentes

Paula Garza Fuentes, 88 of Othello, Washington, passed away February 24, 2017. She was born in Nuevo Repueblo, N.L. on October 30, 1928 to Luis and Rita Garza. Paula was one of eleven children; she had five brothers and five sisters. At the age of 18, she married Ruben E. Fuentes on May 17, 1948. Together they raised twelve children; they were blessed with six boys and six girls. Paula dedicated many years of her life to working in the agricultural industry. She worked for McCains Foods for 33 years, at the age of 80 she retired from McCains. She was also member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Paula was a loving and caring person who enjoyed spending time at home gardening, as well as, energetically dancing and singing. She is survived by Armando (Agustina) Fuentes, Mission, Texas, Julian (Mary) Fuentes, Mount Vernon, Washington, Damiana Fuentes, Othello, Washington, Martin (Maricela) Fuentes, Othello, Washington, Fidencio (Angelica) Fuentes, Houston, Texas, Francelia (Mero) Valenzuela, Granger, Washington, Ruben (Olga) Fuentes, Othello, Washington, Gregoria (Leandro) Gonzalez, Othello, Washington, Aurora (Eriberto) Martinez, Othello, Washington, Rosa Fuentes, Othello, Washington, and Angelina (Jacob) Gomez, Othello, Washington. She was preceded in death by her son Miguel Angel Fuentes, and her siblings, Antonio Garza, Sabas Garza, Ignacia Garza, Gregoria Martinez, Joaquin Garza, Josefa Garza, Beatriz Garza, Romulo Garza, Eusebio Garza, and Damiana Garza. Paula leaves behind a legacy of thirty-nine grandchildren, sixty-six great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be held 11:00 a.m., March 2, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
