Obituary of Doris Darlene Eveland

Doris Darlene Eveland, 84, of Mesa, Washington, passed away June 28, 2017.  She was born in Greggory, South Dakota on June 18, 1933.  Doris was raised in Hood River Oregon and met the love of her life at a very early age!  At the age of 17, she married Nelson Eveland, and they enjoyed a wonderful 53 ½ years together.  Doris and Nelson were married just a few years when they had their daughter Vicky.   When Vicky was just 2 Nelson was drafted into the Army and was sent off to Germany for 1 year.
When Nelson returned from Germany the family grew when their son Tony was born.  When Tony was a young boy, they moved to the Tri-City area to work on the family farm in North Franklin County.
Doris worked for years in many different jobs, but her longest career was with Lamb Weston.  Doris retired from Lamb Weston and spent her time gardening, camping and fishing with Nelson.  Doris and Nelson were truly best friends and lovers and enjoyed the time they spent together.
She was survived by her children: Vicky Barnett of Mabton, Washington and Tony (Valerie) Eveland of Mesa, Washington.  Doris also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren to cherish her loving memory. 
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, July 8, 2017 at Mountain View Cemetery in Connell, Washington.
