Obituary of Erwin Ison
Erwin Ison, age 64, of Othello, Washington, passed away July 25, 2017 at the Othello Community Hospital. He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on November 28, 1952. Erwin’s father was an Airforce Captain, and as Erwin grew up, he was traveled the world with his family. Erwin graduated from Othello High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University. He was drafted into the military during the Vietnam War and deployed to Germany, because he was fluent in German. A few years after he was discharged, he re-enlisted and served another few years in the Army. Erwin worked as an Operating Engineer at Simplot in Othello, until his retirement. He had a passion for wildlife. He donated to several wildlife groups, and loved his dogs like children. He enjoyed football, tennis, and chess. Erwin was a quiet man who kept to himself and enjoyed a simple life. May he rest in peace. He was survived by his son, Eric (Oksana) Ison, sister, Angie Ison, and brothers, Robert Ison and Ronald Ison. Per Erwin’s request no funeral services will be held.
