Obituary of Rafaela Garza Garza

Rafaela Garza Garza, 97, of Othello died August 31, 2020 at the Tri-Cities Retirement Inn, Pasco, Washington where she lived her last 10 years. Rafaela was born in Rio Grande, Texas on October 14, 1922 to Esequiel and Petra Garza. In December of 1940 she met the love of her life, Juan Garza, and married him. Juan and Rafaela worked very hard raising their seven children. In 1960 they followed the agriculture route and came to Othello where they finished raising the children. Rafaela worked at Carnation (now JR Simplot) for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed her later years spending time with her family. She was a great cook and everyone would gather around when she made her tamales. On her spare time she had sewing projects, gardening, and reading her bible. Rafaela loved music and dancing. She would tell her family and friends about her travels all over the United States. Rafaela Garza Garza was preceded in death by her parents, Esequiel and Petra Garza, husband, Juan Garza, son, Carlos Garza, daughter, Maria Isabel Garza. She was survived by sons Juan A Garza and Servando Garza. Daughters Olivia Sauceda, Maria A Espinoza, and Petra Correa, 28 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and 51 great great grandchildren.
