Obituary of Erminio Miguel Perez
Ermino Miguel “Gordy” Perez, loving husband and father, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, surrounded by his wife, Mandi, children, Ashley and Mason, and his sister, Letty.
He met his beautiful wife, Mandi Keele Perez when they were in high school. Their love has stood the test of time, and they just celebrated 20 years of marriage. They loved each other tremendously. Together, they loved to cheer on their kids, watch the Seahawks, play games and travel.
He was the father others strive to be. His love and support for his children Phelicia, Isaiah, Ashley and Mason was apparent to everyone who knew him .He loved nothing more than to watch them at their many sporting events, never missing a match or game unless he had to work, and even then he was watching on his phone or getting updates from Mandi. If you were at one of these events you could hear him cheering loudly or asking Mandi to stop cheering so loudly. And while watching his children was his greatest joy, he was generous with his support of their teammates, cheering just as loudly for them. He will be greatly missed by the Othello sports’ community.
Gordy’s sense of humor and quick wit were legendary. He could tell wildly entertaining stories and crack up an entire room with one sly remark. His family and friends have spent countless hours over the years enjoying his jokes and laughter. His smile could light up a room and was contagious.
Gordy was known for his strong work ethic. He believed in working hard and doing things the right way. This was something that could be seen in all aspects of his life, but especially as a loyal employee of McCain’s where he worked as a packaging mechanic for 26 years. He was a leader and an example of what a good employee should be.
His family, friends and the community of Othello will greatly miss Gordy. But he will long be remembered. Gordy chose to live life to the fullest and his legacy of love and friendship are his lasting gift. Gordy was preceded in death by his sister Malinda Perez. He is survived by his wife, Mandi Keele Perez, children, Phelicia (Alex) Kelly, Isaiah, Ashley and Mason, granddaughter, Emma Kelly, parents, Erminio “Herman” and Elvia Perez, in-laws, Ed and JoAnn Keele, brothers and sisters Leticia (Isreal) Perez, Alicia (Joel) Pruneda, Jose (Samantha) Perez, Jessica (Chris) Perez, Arron Perez
