She continued working in the fields with her family until 1985, when she met the love of her life, Gregorio Martinez working in a sugar beet field. They worked together for many years until getting married on April 7, 1990. The couple soon welcomed their first child, Camila Martinez on September 12, 1991. Followed by their second daughter Graciela born July 27, 1993 and their surprise baby Idolina on January 16, 1997. Nina with her caring heart also raised her "Son" Joseph Pruneda. Joseph is the son of Nina's baby brother Tomas, but she raised him right along with her girls. Nina was a loving mother who raised her children with a strong faith in God. Nina was a devout member of her church and community. Around town, she was known as the tamale lady. Nina made the best tamales and she used that talent to help provide for her daughters then helped teach the ladies at the church. Idolina loved helping in any way she could. She was constantly helping with the youth group and was an active member of the church's prayer group. Nina was always just a call away, with prayers, advice, counseling as well as helping with the church's food booth at the fair. Any spare time she had she spent with her church family. On February 6, 2023 she gained her wings surrounded by her closest loved ones praising the lord with the songs she loved until her final breath. She was an extraordinary woman and will be greatly missed.
