Obituary of Beverly Ann Barker

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beverly Ann Barker, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 5th, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born on October 7th, 1932, in Ellensburg, Washington, to Carl and Verona Heinrich and was the third child in the family. Beverly's childhood was marked by the Great Depression and by frequent moves due to her father's job as a construction worker. Because of this, she cherished the stability and rootedness she found when she married Jim Barker and moved to a farm where they lived for the next 58 years. Beverly and Jim were married for 54 years, and their love for each other was evident to all who knew them. As a farmer's wife, Beverly worked tirelessly alongside her husband to build a successful farm and raise their twin boys, Jamie and Jody. She cherished spending time with her sisters and was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Beverly's life was guided by her belief that the most sure way to find happiness is to help others find it. She lived this belief by bringing joy to others through her warm smile, helping hand, and open heart. Beverly loved flowers and children, and she helped both bloom with her patient love and encouragement. She never gave up on people or things easily and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Beverly's kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A service to celebrate her life will be held at First Baptist Church, 1130 E Pine St. in Othello, WA, on Saturday, March 11th, at 2 pm. Beverly is survived by her sons Jody (Cristi) Barker and Jamie (Leonor) Barker, her sister Gaybeth Brown, her granddaughter Kinsey Barker, her step-grandchildren Jesenia, Elieser, Orlando, Issa, and Millah, her great-grandchild Kenly, many nieces and nephews, her special great-niece Meagan, and her daughters Claire and Adaya. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Barker, parents Carl and Verona Heinrich, sisters Carmel Gallaway and Betty Johnston, and brother Don Heinrich. Beverly's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Rest in peace, Beverly, and thank you for the memories.
