Obituary of Lynn Lindsey

Please share a memory of Lynn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
May Lynn Lindsey rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the warmth of the memories he created and love that will endure. Lynn Lindsey, born on February 19, 1954, in Chelan, Washington, departed this world on November 29, 2023, surrounded by love. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Julia Lindsey; his sisters Vesta Austin, Deanna Haworth, and Lexie Grose; and his first wife, Jeanette, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage and raised three children. Lynn is survived by his wife, Jane Zornes Lindsey; his children Michelle Brooks, Melissa Frederickson, and Jason Lindsey; grandson Chayse Brooks; stepchildren Toby Parks and Verna Garton; his sister, Brenda Baker, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. In what turned out to be the twilight of his life, Lynn found a new chapter of love with Jane Zornes, marrying her just one month prior to receiving his devastating cancer diagnosis in 2022. Their union was a testament to enduring love and unwavering devotion. For over 45 years, Lynn dedicated himself to serving the communities of Chelan, Brewster, Mattawa, and Royal City through his exemplary service in their fire departments. A stalwart leader, Lynn played a pivotal role in shaping the future of firefighting by mentoring and training the leaders of tomorrow. He was known as "The Legend." When not fighting fires, Lynn could be found cultivating the land in Columbia Basin orchards, showcasing his commitment to both his community and the earth. Lynn's zest for life extended to the great outdoors, where he found solace and joy in snowmobiling adventures, often shared with his dear friend, Bob Reed. His spirit for exploration and camaraderie knew no bounds. In the end, Lynn was surrounded by the warm love and solace of those closest to him - his devoted wife, Jane, and friends Neil Vargas and Mike Wright. Lynn's legacy of selflessness, passion, and love will forever echo in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. A celebration of Lynn's life will take place at Eastmont Baptist Church on December 16, 2023, at 1:00. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Royal Slope Fire Department. This gesture reflects Lynn's commitment to community and his deep appreciation to those who dedicate themselves to public service.
